I don't think the 500 is meant to save Chrysler, but to qualify Fiat for another 20% ownership of Chrysler. Chrysler's salvation lies with Fiat's ability to upgrade Chrysler's 4-cylinder engine offerings, and add some style to the Pentastar's lineup.
