Folks might not like Bush for whatever reason, and that's fine as long as it based on objectivity and not a subjective critique. But in this past election, as soon as there was a challenger, the journalists/editors/OpEd writers went out of their way to point out that Kerry was a much smarter man and that Bush was a dumba$$ for a variety of reasons (as was outlined here by Auto Prophet). Now, I'm not saying that Bush is the quickest on his feet or the best orator by any means, but he's not exactly stupid. He did attend an Ivy League college just as Kerry did and he did get into politics and outsmarted any number of "smart" folks along the way. Aside from some bubbling on the TV, why would folks so easily think this? The perception of things out there is fueled in part by the media -- and in all honestly they need to get over themselves now. Just look at our own auto press. If you didnt' know it, you would have thought that the US auotmakers were the biggest bunch of morons out there. Or you would have thought that GM was a heartbeat away from bankruptcy, Ford makes a horrible product, Chrysler couldn't make a reliable care to save their collective lives, etc. I don't necessarily think this...but a number of consumers do thanks in part by the perceptions that are established -- and routinedly exploited -- by the media. A little objectivity and some fair and balanced reporting wouldn't be amiss.

Sorry for the rant...long day at work! ;-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11693538.post-1118158961015859742005-06-07T10:42:00.000-05:002005-06-07T10:42:00.000-05:00I'm with anonymous on this one.I'm with anonymous on this one.The Angry Engineerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10928046249269361604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11693538.post-1118152216177227782005-06-07T08:50:00.000-05:002005-06-07T08:50:00.000-05:00just proves my point, Rep or Dem, we're screwed ei...just proves my point, Rep or Dem, we're screwed either wayAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
