In-Car TV

The other night, I pulled up to a light next to a Honda Odyssey minivan which had a small TV screen flipped down from the headliner.

On it, quite easily visible to anyone in adjacent lanes, was some sort of porn.

I really don't understand... do people really need to be plugged into TV all the time? Isn't driving engaging enough? And even if they must watch TV at all times, can't the keep their porn at home, where the rest of us don't have to look at it?

I saw 2 guys on the way back from Atlantic city watching porn in their truck while driving on the highway.

It just proves that porn is an addiction and masturbation can lead to car accidents.

Television has totally captivated a large percentage of the population. You can't escape the damned things. Hospital waiting rooms, hotel lobbies, airport gates. TV is everywhere; you can't avoid it even if you want to. The programming is, generally, junk like The View, or things like the tennis finals including the orgasmic grunting of the female players when they hit the ball.

When Kroger ruined, I mean, bought up, the Ralphs grocery chain in California, one of their "improvements" was to put television sets at every checkout counter. Each has loops of commercials played at obnoxious volume levels. I reached out and turned the volume down on one. I caught hell from a 20-something manager type. I just shrugged my shoulders, and walked out of the store, leaving about $40 in groceries on the conveyor.

Yes. I own a TV set. But it is not grafted to my hip.

porn on road, now that's just amazing. i suppose it was just a matter of time.

on another topic,

With the absence of Tapscott’s Carnival of Cars, I’ve decided to start up the Carnival of Wheels. Our first edition will be on New Year’s Eve!

I’m hoping you’ll contribute.

Have a great holiday season,

A few years ago, it was difficult to find synthetic motor oils, and equally difficult to find someone who admitted to

using them. Nowadays, however, you can find synthetic motor oils on the shelves of Wal-Mart, and other retailers, and

the number of people turning to synthetic motor oils, particularly in light of the recent events affecting fuel

prices, has risen greatly.

So why do people use synthetic motor oils rather than sticking with the old petroleum based stand-bys which are

admittedly cheaper?

1. Let's start with the cost per quart issue. Synthetic motor oils ARE more expensive at purchase. However, these oils

last longer, requiring fewer oil changes. As a synthetic motor oil outlasts several changes of petroleum based

lubricants, the ultimate out-of-pocket cost of the lubricant is less. This cost savings becomes even greater if you

have someone else change your oil for you rather than doing it yourself!
